English Version below! Sven und ich hatten schon als wir uns Kennenlernten Fotografieren als Gemeinsamkeit festgestellt. Zugegeben, er war mir da um einiges voraus. Als Schülerin habe ich in der Foto AG Bilder noch selbst in der Dunkelkammer entwickelt, hatte mit der alten Exakta fotografiert und Dias gerahmt. Aber irgendwie hatte dann doch eine Automatik-Kleinformat-Kamera Einzug gehalten. Der Sprung zur Digitalfotografie war bei mir noch nicht erfolgt. Sven jedoch kaufte munter eine Kamera nach der anderen, da war die Nikon D70, die Panasonic Lumix GF1, GX1, GF6, die Olympus EM1, PEN F. Ich hingegen war mit kleinen Kindern, Windeln, Wickeltaschen umfassbarer Größe, beruflichem Wiedereinstieg, Hausrenovierung und ähnlichem vollauf beschäftigt und habe seine fotografische Entwicklung allenfalls zur Kenntnis genommen und bewundert. Irgendwann hielt dann die Sony A7R2 bei uns Einzug und alsbald auch die Sony A7R3. Auf den Hurtigruten 2018 habe ich die A7R2 zwar verwendet, aber ich habe keine RAWs gemacht. Ich sagte mir, dass ich für die Nachbearbeitung von Bildern ohnehin keine Zeit hätte. Sven hatte mittlerweile diverse Workshops besucht, Porträt- und sogar Aktshootings gemacht. Irgendwann begann er von einem Fotografentreffen auf Usedom zu sprechen und ob ich mitwollte…. Ich steckte in der Probezeit einer neuen Anstellung und hatte keinen Kopf dafür. Erst zwei Wochen vor dem Treffen – die Probezeit war mittlerweile überstanden – kam das Thema mit dem Fotografentreffen auf Usedom wieder auf. Es sollte eine schöne Therme geben, die Kinder würden von Oma und Opa betreut, ich könnte einfach als Begleitung mitfahren und mich in die Sauna legen und vielleicht massieren lassen. Schon fand ich die Idee Mitzufahren garnichtmehr so schlecht. Es kam am Ende alles anders als gedacht.
Irgendwie war es eine ganz inspirierende Veranstaltung, in einem alten DDR Arbeiter-Erholungsheim, einem riesigen Betonkasten in Zinnovitz – direkt am Strand. Es stellt sich der Ehrgeiz ein auch jemanden zu fotografieren, schließlich blitzte und shootete es an allen Ecken und Enden in dem Hotel und auch am Strand. Schließlich geriet ich, durch Vermittlung an zwei Fotografen des Husumer Fotostammtisch. Wir fotografierten uns gegenseitig und es machte Spaß und die Fotos wurden gut. Nun war ich inspiriert und so fotografierten Sven und ich uns gegenseitig. Auf der Rückfahrt nach Hamburg kriegte ich noch eine Lightroom Einführung und erkannte welche Möglichkeiten sich aus der Vollformat-Kamera und der digitalen Bildbearbeitung ergaben.
Ich kann nur sagen Danke Andreas Jorns für das tolle AJ MeetUp, auf dem wir dieses Jahr wieder dabei sein werden. Seitdem habe ich wirklich viel fotografiert, mittlerweile schreiben wir gemeinsam hier im BLOG visualbrainfood.com und dieses Jahr wird es eine zweite Version des Buches zum BLOG geben. Darin sind auch einige Beiträge von mir zu lesen.

Sven and I had already found out that when we got to know each other we were photographing together. Admittedly, he was way ahead of me. As a schoolgirl I developed my own pictures in the darkroom of the photography course, took pictures with the old Exakta and framed slides. But somehow an automatic small-format camera had found its way in. The change to digital photography had not yet taken place. However, Sven happily bought one camera after the other, there was the Nikon D70, the Panasonic Lumix GF1, GX1, GF6, the Olympus EM1, PEN F. I, on the other hand, was fully occupied with small children, diapers, diaper bags of a comprehensible size, professional re-entry, house renovation and the like and at best took note of his photographic development and admired it. At some point the Sony A7R2 came to us and soon the Sony A7R3. On the Hurtigruten 2018 I used the A7R2, but I didn’t make any RAWs. I told myself I didn’t have time for post-processing anyway. Sven had meanwhile attended various workshops, done portrait and even nude shoots. At some point he began to talk about a photographer meeting on Usedom and whether I wanted to participate…. I was in the probationary period of a new employment and had no head for it. Only two weeks before the meeting – the probation period was over – the topic came up again with the photographer meeting on Usedom. There should be a beautiful spa, the children would be looked after by grandma and grandpa, I could simply come along as a companion and lie down in the sauna and maybe have a massage. Already I didn’t think the idea to ride along was so bad anymore. In the end, everything turned out differently than expected.
Somehow it was an inspiring event, in an old GDR workers‘ recreation home, a huge concrete box in Zinnovitz – right on the beach. The ambition was to take pictures of someone, too. There were flashes and shootings all over the hotel and on the beach. Finally I met, by mediation, two photographers of the Husumer Fotostammtisch. We photographed each other and it was fun and the photos turned out well. Now I was inspired and so Sven and I photographed each other. On the way back to Hamburg I got a Lightroom tutorial and recognized which possibilities arose from the full format camera and the digital image processing.
I can only say „thank you Andreas Jorns“ for the great AJ MeetUp, at which we will take part again this year. Since then I’ve really photographed a lot, meanwhile we publish this BLOG visualbrainfood.com together. This year there will be a second version of the book on the BLOG. There are also some contributions from me to read.
